Elmering and sharing are at the core of the ham radio community. As I delved deeper into digital voice, I realized that the learning process never truly ends. As someone with an IT background, I discovered that the world of digital voice is closely related to VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) used in the computer industry. The ability to merge my IT skills with my radio hobby is truly a dream come true. That’s why my current deep interest lies in digital voice within the ham radio hobby.
While I was learning and researching, I came to the realization that it’s easy to share the knowledge I acquire with the rest of the community through the internet. I asked myself, “Why keep what I learn to myself when it’s so simple to share it with others?” My hope is that this website ignites interest among computer-savvy hams from all regions of the world to also contribute and help others. Computers and radios have always had a symbiotic relationship, but now, with the evolution of the internet and the “Cloud,” their relationship is becoming even more intertwined.
Digital voice entails various components, and it is relatively new to our hobby, with many hams exploring it for the first time. Websites like this one aim to support local ham communities by providing accessible, up-to-date, and educational information. By doing so, we can help others stay informed and continue learning.
I try to keep everything up to date as often as I can. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, my email is good on QRZ.
